Community Time - Special Schedule One Monday A Month

Once again, Brooklyn Technical High School showed itself to be the best chess team in New York City as it dominated the 54th Greater NY Scholastic Chess Championships that were held this weekend, February 1 & 2, at the Brooklyn Marriott Hotel. With over 1700 players registered for the tournament, the competition was tough, including no less than 8 Chess Master Players. For more info and results click headline.
National Counselor Week
National School Counseling Week 2020, "School Counselors: Helping Build Better Humans," will be celebrated from Feb. 3rd -7th, 2020, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. Boys JV Basketball Team
Congratulations to the Boys JV Basketball Team for defeating John Jay Campus. Team was led by the outstanding performance of Sophomore Jackson Katz 28 Points and 23 Rebounds Along with Freshman Kenny Lei 10 points 5 Assist.. Great Team win...
Boys Varsity Lacrosse Meeting
Boys Varsity Lacrosse will hold an interest meeting for anyone who would like to try out. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 12th, at 4pm in the Main Lobby. All athletes are welcome to come -- especially Fall or Winter athletes who would like to learn a new sport. Football and soccer players are strongly encouraged to attend! We have most equipment so no need to spend lots of money. Colleges are actively recruiting lacrosse student-athletes and we'd like to help you achieve your dreams! Congratulations to the Boys Swim Team
Congratulations to the Boys Swim Team for winning the PSAL Individual Championships this weekend! Tech outscored rival Stuyvesant HS by a score of 354-290. We won 6 out of the 11 events, including all three relays and broke three school records. Tyler Lee, Kevin Zahariev, Penn Lee, and Joe DiMaggio broke the school record in the 200 Medley Relay, while Penn Lee broke the school record in the 200 Individual Medley and Kevin Zahariev broke the school record in the 100 Breaststroke. We had seven City Champions and eight swimmers qualify for the New York State Swimming Championships: Gerry Yavorsky, Matthew Sizzle, Christopher Lai, Penn Lee, Tyler Lee, Joe DiMaggio, Kevin Zahariev, and Brendan Lu. Tech will swim against Stuyvesant HS for the dual meet championships this Thursday.
