Another year, another PSAL Brooklyn Borough Championship for the Boys and a 2nd place finish for the Girls outdoor track teams last Saturday (5/18/19) at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island! For Coach Wade Clarke and his Boys team 1st place winners included Evan Sherman ’19 (1600m), Bishopp Boutin ’19 (110m Hurdles), Merlin Beaufils ’19 (Pole Vault), helping the Engineers maintain borough bragging rights over HS for Telecommunication Arts HS, 123 to 100 team points. On the Girls side, Coach George Taylor’s leaders included 1st place finishes by Lucinda Doogan ’20 (1500m), Christy Huynh ’20 (3000m), Farah Osman ’22 (2000m Steeplechase) pacing the Engineers to secure 2nd place behind the fast & furious Paul Robeson Campus HS champions. A special shout-out to all Tech seniors who ran their last race for the Engineers -- and CONGRATS! as they move on to graduation next month. Girl's Epee Team Takes Third Place
The Girl"s Fencing Team completed the season 8-0 in division play and placed third city-wide in Epee. Special congratulations are in order for the Epee team lead by Karina Popovich ..Jada Lee McGregor and Tatiana Merheb, all graduating seniors.WELL DONE girl's fencing.
Congratulations to the 2019 City Champion Girls Varsity Badminton Team
The girls beat Hunter in the Finals and were also amazing in the Individuals as it was an all Tech Doubles Finals as we took 1st and 2nd. Congrats to our 1st place Individual City Champion Doubles Team Vicky Chen and LiYin Chen and to for 2nd Place In Individuals to our Doubles Team Anna Zou and Celine Chen. Coach D’Augusta would like to also congratulate the entire team and our singles players Angela Tao, Renee Ma and Winnie Ouyang for an amazing undefeated season. Go Tech!!
BTHS’s varsity runners traveled to White Plains HS on Saturday (5/11/19) to represent the PSAL at the 52nd annual Glenn D. Loucks Games along with 240 high schools from the Tristate area, New England, Virginia, Ohio and even four Canadian Provinces. Kudos to Bishopp Boutin ’19 for winning the Varsity Pentathlon by three event points as he clinched 1st place in the final 1500m event. Boy's Tennis team
Congratulations to the Boy's Tennis team on winning the Division Championship with an undefeated 12 - 0 record. The first playoff game is Monday, May 20th at 4 PM. The match will take place at Fort Greene Tennis Courts. Please come and support the team! We look forward to seeing you there.
