The BTHS Outdoor track teams concluded the PSAL season with the Freshman/Sophomore City Championships on Sunday 6/2/19 at DeWitt Clinton HS in the Bronx. The future looks promising for both Boys and Girls teams with many athletes placing high at the event, including Farah Osman ’22 who amassed 22 meet points for the Girls including 1st place in the Fr. 2k Steeplechase and Marcus Scott ’21 who took 1st in the Soph. 800m. Freshmen Girls were led by Farah Osman ‘22 who racked up 22 points in 3 events, setting a Personal Record in the 2K Steeplechase and taking 1st place with a time of 7:36.64.  Osman also took 3rd place in both the 1500 meter and 3000 meter runs.


The Freshmen & Sophomore 4 x 800 teams (Diana Lorenzo Reyes ’22, Paige McCallion ‘22

Ellen Tang ’22, Audrey Wong ’22 &  Maya Almawaldi '21, Bariat Bashiru '21, Michelle Cao '21 & Isabella Greyser '21) each grabbed 5th place.


Almawaldi took 4th place in the 3000 meter run for the Sophomore Girls.


Erik Nebel ’22 took 2nd and set a new Personal Record 7:05.45 in the Freshman Boys 2K Steeplechase.


Dylan Zhao ‘22 also set a Personal Record in the 800m with 2:13.89 good for 6th place.


Kyle Lin ’22 placed 6th in the 3200m. 


The Fr. 4 x 800 relay team of Zhao, Andres Orbegozo ’22, Alisher Yokubonov ’22 and Johnny Wu ‘22 took 4th.


Manhim Liu ‘22, Isaac Forson ‘22, Zhiwen Wu ‘22, Jinhao Huang ‘22 grabbed 5th place in Fr. 4 x 400m relay.


For the Sophomore Boys, Marcus Scott ‘21 improved his 800 meter time, setting a Personal Record and taking 1st place with a very fast 2:04.46 which would’ve qualified for the Varsity City Championships this year!


Jacob Koziej ‘21 placed 4th in Long Jump.  Marcus and Jacob teamed up with Patrick Dicus and Andrew Smith and finished 1st in the Sophomore 4 x 800 relay.
