SUMMER READING 2019
Dive into a book of your choice this summer! Check out the (required) summer reading assignment here for ALL Tech students, including incoming freshman and sophomores. Please note that some students have course-specific assignments (check Z-codes in PupilPath). Additionally, all rising seniors must have a draft of a college essay going into the year. Remember, you worked on this with your 11th-grade teacher in the spring, and you are welcome to revise and rewrite over the summer. Click the headline for more details.

Incoming Students – Register for Music
Brooklyn Tech offers music courses in Band, Chorus and Orchestra (violin, viola, cello & bass). Music is an elective class, therefore you must register for it. If you are an incoming 9th or 10th grader and would like to be programmed for a music class in September, please click headline to fill out the form.
BTHS Student a Congressional Institute Visual Art Awardee!!!
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Vidiya Dawah’s artwork was the winning piece for the 8th Congressional District of New York. For more info click headline.

BOYS & GIRLS OUTDOOR TRACK
While the BTHS Boys & Girls PSAL Outdoor track season may have ended earlier this month, many athletes continued on and competed at the NYSPHSAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships (June 7th & 8th at Middletown HS in upstate NY). BTHS student-athletes also received well deserved accolades at the school’s Athletic Awards Ceremony on 6/14/19. Please click the title for highlights. GO ENGINEERS!
BOYS & GIRLS OUTDOOR TRACK
The BTHS Outdoor track teams concluded the PSAL season with the Freshman/Sophomore City Championships on Sunday 6/2/19 at DeWitt Clinton HS in the Bronx. The future looks promising for both Boys and Girls teams with many athletes placing high at the event, including Farah Osman ’22 who amassed 22 meet points for the Girls including 1st place in the Fr. 2k Steeplechase and Marcus Scott ’21 who took 1st in the Soph. 800m. Incoming Freshman Tryouts Girls Varsity Soccer August 2019
This is an announcement for all incoming freshmen interested in trying out for the Girls' Varsity Soccer Team. Tryouts will be conducted Monday, August 19th and Tuesday, August 20th at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 5 at 7 a.m. sharp. CONGRATS TO THE GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM ON BECOMING CITY CHAMPS!
In dramatic fashion Tech seeded #19 played a revenge match vs #1 seeded John Bowne and beat them 7-0. The MVP of the game sophomore pitcher Ava Whitman had 13 strikeouts, no runs, and had a no-hitter going into the 6th inning. The bats were on fire led by senior Bernice Dominguez who had 2RBI’s and junior Emma Whitman who had a triple and RBI. Coach Malone is so proud of this team and their amazing season ending accomplishment!
